Well, well, well. Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif, promoters of US rap festival Rolling Loud, have announced they’re bringing the blockbuster event to Australia in a few short months. Come Sunday January 27th 2019, Sydney’s Olympic Park will play host to the travelling festival. No lineup details yet, but organisers promise they’ll reveal the first headliners this week. Tickets will be available to anyone 16 and over—you can sign up for presale access here.
Rolling Loud began in Miami, and has since hosted satellite festival in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The most recent event, held in Miami, attracted 135,000 hip-hop heads—that’s just a little less than the entire population of Geelong. Zingler and Cherif have ambitions to take the festival as far as Japan, China, Mexico, and Croatia.
